Quick study 6x8, to sharpen skills
I have been working on several larger pieces the past weeks, honing details to the point where I needed a break. I grabbed a photo that had some strong color and values, used three colors plus white, a #6 flat bristle brush and spent between 45-60min. I refrained from any diddling or reworking, Needless to say it does look strong in strokes etc. and if I do work on a larger version this will be a good resource to tell me what changes in composition I need to make. This is just one of many skill builders you can use to be more decisive in working on larger pieces.
You certainly have the light directed on the rock face and tree trunks. Great shadows and shapes!
