Moonstruck

Moonstruck oil on panel 16 x 20
Challenge of creating backlit clouds with delicate edges and the gentle aura of the warm colors projected from the moon. Very ethereal feeling to this painting

Bathtub with an Attitude

Bathtub with an Attitude  oil on panel 8x10
An overnight stay at a Friends home, dinner and a walk in the  lakeside yard all got me to this delightful feast for the eye, what a great re-purposing of an old bathtub.... gives it a whole new attitude.

PondReflections

Pond Reflections 9 x 12 oil on panel
Lovely reflections on a  morning walk just down the block. My favorite time of day. Used some fun colors in this.

Wild Cucumbers

Wild Cucumbers 8 x 10 oil on panel
Haven't posted for awhile busy playing with paint and teaching. I felt a desire to paint in a classical style and do some still life with the focus on the drama of light.

Water Under the Bridge

Water Under the Bridge 6 x 8 oil on panel
This painting is based on photos taken when my Friend, Lynne and I went on photo shooting drive for a couple of days during her visit with us. This was late Fall and beautiful sunshine which made the delicate colors left of Fall look like the colors of gems. The nuances of violet, gold and blue all shimmer in the reflections in the water.
I have a love of bridges, culverts and walkways, they always seem to invite me to enjoy stepping a bit further into the scene.

Quiet Woods

Quiet Woods 8 x 10 Oil on canvas panel
I feel I can hear the quiet looking into and through the trees deeper and deeper. The colors are soft and subtle giving beauty to the overcast day that here in Minnesota adds to winter walks in and near our wooded areas.

Willow Reflections

Willow Reflections 4 x 6 in. Oil on panel
These willows hang over the edge of a local lake and we drive by them many times a week. They have a beauty in all seasons of the year. This year a lingering Fall kept the deep golden orange color far longer than usual and I finally captured it first on film, then in paint
